Mariusz Patyra - violin

Mariusz Patyra was born on November 21st, 1977 in Orzysz.

He began learning  the violin at the age of seven. His teachers were: A. Hoffmann in Olsztyn, Professor J.Kucharski in Warsaw, K. Węgrzyn in Hanover and Maestro Salvatore Accardo in Cremona. In 2018, having graduated with honours from the Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, he got his master's degree. Currently he teaches the violin at this university.

He is the first Pole to win "Premio Nicolo Paganini" (Genoa 2001) alongside with a special award for the best performance of Nicolo Paganini's Caprices and a copy of the "Il Cannone" violin (The Cannon), which used to belong to the great virtuoso.

Mariusz Patyra is also the laureate of the International J. Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover (1997) and a finalist of the International Stradivarius Competition in Cremona (1988).

He won the 4th prize at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition in Odense, as well as a special award of the Odense Sinfonie Orchester (2000). In 2006, Mariusz Patyra was the winner of a competition for a scholarship from the Japanese Music Foundation J.E.S.C. and the laureate of the "Premio Pressenda 2006" award (Alba / Italy).

He has performed in Europe, Japan, the United States of America and South America. He has performed, among others with the Royal Chamber Orchestra Tokyo, Orchestra Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, Orchestra di Roma, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Polish Radio Orchestra, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra "Amadeusz", Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra.

He has recorded for Polish, German (NDR, WDR) and Italian Radio (RAI TRE).
